About Me

Hi everyone!  Welcome to my blog and thank you for spending some time at Awesome.

I’m a passionate, sarcastic, spunky, strong, silly, blatant 20-something and proud Gen Y-er.

Active lover of Russian food, figure skating and family time, recently transplanted myself from New York City to Chicago!  I believe in living life big and I think planning to be the exception and not the rule is totally OK.  Some might call this optimism.

I’ve been through some hard things in my young life but I feel incredibly blessed and have somehow retained my childish enthusiasm.

I am still idealistic (and hope to never lose it!) and believe that it IS possible to achieve the un-achievable.  I probably owe this to my mama and my grandmother.  Two women who raised me and taught me that this life has great things to offer.  And anything you dream up is possible.

I blog about my life, my experiences, my adventures, opinions and sarcastic muses.  I try to blog 2-3 times a week or when Awesome happens… which believe it or not, happens more than you think.

The people and companies I blog about do not compensate me in any way unless I note that they do.

If you’d like to reach out to me directly, feel free to drop me a note at: 31daysofawesome@gmail.com.  Sponsorships and guest blogging opportunities available.

  1. its all a state of mind .. if you believe you will always be young at heart you will be 🙂 wonderful to have female role models to inspire 🙂 … i decided early on to never ‘grow old’ … the outside shows some wear and tear but the inside is still a young 21 yo 🙂

  2. “I am still idealistic (and hope to never lose it!) and believe that it IS possible to achieve the un-achievable.” On the same page here! It’s nice to meet a person with this point of view. People nowadays take idealism the wrong way. 🙂

    • That’s great to hear! Sounds like we have a similar hunger for life. I read about all of your endeavors – so inspirational! I hope you are able to keep it up. Baking and your music school sound like great adventures. Good luck!

    • Hello Miles!

  3. hi neonspndx, thank you for visiting my blogpage and liking a couple of things there. that’s really nice of you. 🙂 i came by to check out your About page and loved every bit of what you have written in it. and there seem to be many similarities in our thoughts, too. i believe in a lot of what you have said up there. 🙂 thanks once again for dropping by and hope you are having a wonderful day.
    warm regards

    • Hello! Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I think connecting with others in this medium has been one of the most rewarding parts of blogging. You find that so many of us are similar and sharing, inspiring and motivating is exciting. I wish you the best of luck!

  4. Another east coaster in Chicago. Well thanks for liking my post and trying to be awesome. Shouldn’t be too hard seeing as how east coast girls got it going on.

As a Jersey girl trying to do the midwest thing myself I will be following!

    • Thank you so much. I’m originally from the midwest but I think spending so much time on the east coast has definitely molded who I am… trying to fit in!! I actually had a dinner date tonight with an east coaster who moved here 2 months ago. Both of us agreed that the vibe is a bit different and we’re adjusting accordingly. I am loving Chicago but there are differences it turns out. I appreciate the confidence!! Thank you so much.

  7. I just followed your link from another page about skate sharpening and found your blog. I just found out my guy left Rainbo Sports. Are you willing to share your skate sharpening recommendation? I’m adult skater in the city too. I’m not willing to trust my ancient Pattern 99’s to just anyone. They are too crazy expensive to replace.

    • Hi there – thanks for reaching out. I’m actually not an adult skater – I occasionally coach for Figure Skate Chicago when Irma needs a helping hand. I get my skates sharpened through her sharpener. I would reach out to her for information. Unfortunately, I don’t have it =).
