True History with Modern Wisdom

On day three of AWESOME I found myself at a Portuguese wine tasting in Tribeca sampling “true history with modern wisdom” with a good friend.  I’m still mulling over the slogan, but I can say that I did love the wine and the atmosphere.  We bought tickets to the event on a whim and did not know what to expect.  We were hoping for an opportunity to dress up, meet new people, drink wine, (eat cheese) and immerse ourselves in a new culture without leaving home (I love to travel!!).

We were pleasantly surprised to find a rather large and diverse crowd, more wine than you could realistically drink even if it’s just “tasting,” delicious hour-devours and some interesting characters (yes we made some new friends).

The night proved to be great in a few ways. We met some inspiring entrepreneurs, bonded with a wine maker and learned some new things:

I really do prefer white wine; friends who are up for anything are the BEST; and language barriers always provide amusing situations

We also tasted some Portuguese treats:

Cinnamon cupcakes, Portuguese tarts and (my fave) chicken pate!

Turns out June is Portugal month in NYC.  Glad we took advantage!
